Hey ya’ll! It’s Sunday morning & I pray everyone’s day started off well & that your weekends have been productive, yet restful! I also pray that you’re in good spiritual, relational, mental, physical & financial health! And finally, I pray that your schedules are in the right Godly order! Whew! That was a mouthful…well, a “typeful” since I’m typing it LOL! If that isn’t a word, it should be in these modern technology days, right?!
I want ya’ll to know, I really did just pray that for you before I posted this.
And speaking of prayer & having our schedules in the right Godly order, have you ever told someone you would pray for them, & then you didn’t? Maybe you got so busy with your schedule that you just plain forgot?
I know I have!
God has really worked on me (& is still working on me) over the years to be true to my word & commit to what I say.
“Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”
Matthew 5:37 ESV
“…but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.”
James 5:12 ESV
When we tell someone something, we need to understand that as children of God, it’s vital that we are true to our word. Being true to our word is a Godly attribute because our God is true to His word, & we are to be like Him, & He keeps His word, amen?
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.”
Ephesians 5:1 ESV
Another Scripture that’s heavy on my heart for this blog post is 1 Samuel 12:33:
“Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you, and I will instruct you in the good and the right way.”
According to this Scripture, ceasing to pray is sinning against the Lord!
We are even told in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray without ceasing,”!
Yes beloved, There are consequences to not being true to our words! It’s harmful to our relationship with God & our characters, as we can cultivate a perspective in others that we are untruthful & untrustworthy. Let’s not do that!
I don’t mean to come off harsh this Sunday morning. I just love ya’ll enough to share the truth.
So children of God, rise up…& don’t forget to pray! I love you all & if you haven’t already, please share the link to this post & subscribe to the blog from the home page! Thank you & God bless!
