Dinner for breakfast anyone? Yes please!

I think we all have a general idea of what breakfast foods are. Bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, pancakes…the list goes on.

But salad? Oh! And riblets, rice and my winter blend veggies mix (broccoli and cauliflower)! Yup! This is quite common for me and has been for a few years now.

A while back, I started to ponder why particular foods were categorized as breakfast, lunch and dinner…and why how I ate didn’t completely match up! I’m sure I could have done a lot more research, but I came to my own conclusion.

I’m a total morning person and when I get up, I’m hungry! I need healthy, non-sugary, solid food to start my day so I have all the energy I need! So it made sense to me that my largest, heftiest meal be the first meal! As the day winds down, I eat a smaller meal for lunch, then the smallest meal at dinner. I have little snacks in between as needed.

My body responds well to this and as odd as it may sound, I feel cleaner Inside. I still “cheat” here and there when I take my wife out to eat (as you’ve seen from past blog posts) but for the most part, it’s dinner for breakfast at the Riley’s!

Speaking of cheat, I’m going to go finish my maple mocha. Yummo!
